Stewart Brand's book Whole Earth Discipline: An Ecopragmatist Manifesto has raised a fair number of eyebrows in both the environmental and sustainability communities. The near opposite viewpoint is found in Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet ( that is not a typo) by another uber-green writer, Bill McKibben.
Well, one of the most respected sustainability/education writers, David Orr, has written a review of both books for the journal Nature.
"Brand's and McKibben's books bracket the rational debate about the human future in light of the perils of global destabilization."
