The wording of this bill was also added to amendment H.R. 1, a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through September 2011.
BTW: This is symbolic. The U.S. funding is not terribly large and others will make up for the loss. The funding supports logistical costs for organizing research of scientists from around the world. It will not stop the research.
But in addition the majority in the House appears to have down a "word search" on "climate change" in in budgets. They appear to be trying to cut any federal funds from going to climate change research. Hopefully, they will not cut funding for NOAA & NASA satellite operations. That could hurt everybody on the planet.
I hope all relevant funding is kept by the Senate. If not, the rest of the world will have to carry the ball.
