An Opportunity for Study

 

I do not intend to minimize the loss and suffering occasioned by the Hurricane Sandy storm. But, it does provide an opportunity for study by many disciplines, and areas of the private sector and the public sector. While I may seem calloused, this event was "only" a category 1 hurricane. An unprecedented in size storm, but with "low" wind speeds non-the-less. We can learn alot about our infrastructure condition and emergency preparedness that we can scale up and model from, to meet future adaptation tests by higher category storm events.
